Afternoon Tea: With John Illsley from Dire Straits

16 Mar • Swaffham Assembly Rooms

John, author, painter and, of course, bass guitarist, will be talking about his book, ‘MY LIFE IN DIRE STRAITS’, written as a tribute to his friend, Mark Knopfler the band’s lead singer, songwriter and gifted guitarist.

They navigated Dire Straits from a seedy start playing in London pubs to become one of the biggest bands in rock history. Their numbers, ‘Sultans of Swing’, “Money for Nothing’ and ‘Brothers in Arms’ rang out from the Live Aid Stage at Wembley in 1985 and they went on to wow Madison Square Gardens and venues across the world.

Prepare to hear the thoughts and memories of a music legend.

A full afternoon Tea is included in your ticket.

This is a supporter event and all profits raised will benefit Tapping House.
